- Residents of HRM are advised that there will be no regular municipal curbside collection of solid waste on Natal Day, Monday, August 1, 2011. For HRM residents who would normally receive garbage, green cart and recyclables collection on Monday, August 1st, your alternate collection date will be the preceding Saturday, July 30th.
- The Otter Lake Waste Processing and Disposal Facilities, the two Composting Facilities and the HRM Recycling Plant will be closed on Natal Day, Monday, August 1st, but will be open on Saturday, July 30th with regular operating hours.
- The HRM’s residential Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot will be closed Saturday, July 30th but will be open Saturday, August 6th and 13th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- The Macdonald Bridge will be closed from 7:00am to 5:00pm. The sidewalk and bike lane will remain open during this closure. The closure is taking place to host the following free public events: · 2011 Pepsi Natal Day Parade - 10:00am to 12:00 noon · Halifax Harbour Bridges Bridge Walk - 2:00pm to 4:00pm
- Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation's retail stores in Halifax Regional Municipality will be reduce store hours on Monday, Aug. 1, for Natal Day.
- Stores will be open from noon to 6 p.m., except the Scotia Square, which will be closed for the day. NSLC retail stores outside HRM will be open regular business hours.
- All NSLC stores will resume normal business hours Tuesday, Aug. 2.
