Amy Winehouse Scuplture...Ok or No?

So disrespectful!

Although Daniel Edwards is mostly famous for creating controversial sculptures of a a pregnant Britney Spears on a bear skin rug, or a nude Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber, it's his latest work that we think took it way too far - a bust of of the late Amy Winehouse.

Ch-ch-check it out (above)!

He justifies the work by saying:

"I thought of her as a beautifully delicate fairytale princess, waiting to be rescued from fame and addiction, but her prince never came. I had always expected to sculpt her portrait, but I was waiting for her to put some of her troubles behind her. She had made me pay attention to contemporary music again."

And his representative, Cory Allen, elaborates:

"The portrait of Amy is dedicated to those struggling with addiction and eating disorder. Nobody should have to go through what Amy went through."

Well, what's the deal then?

You want to pay tribute to her life by making her a lost princess, but yet you still depict her body emaciated, nude, and sickly?

We doubt that anyone would think it's appropriate for her to be remembered in such a way. Especially considering the wonderful contributions she made to the music world.

This guy seems far too concerned with creating shock value when he should be focusing on what a talented sculptor he is!

Hopefully this will be his last to raise eyebrows - in a negative way!
