J.K Rowling's New Book Has A Name!

J.K. Rowling has gone from casting spells to casting ... votes?

The famed author of the wildly successful Harry Potter series has finally revealed details, including the title, of herupcoming novel for adults, The Casual Vacancy.

The book, which is described as "blackly comic, thought-provoking and constantly surprising" by publisher Little, Brown, is about a parish council election in a small English town called Pagford.

"Pagfod is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war," reads a description of the book on the publisher's web site.
"Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils ... Pagford is not what it first seems."

The unexpected death of council member Barry Fairweather at an early age will send the town into the "biggest war the town has yet seen."

"Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?" the blurb continues.

Rowling fans will have to wait for answers until Sept. 27, when The Casual Vacancy – which clocks in at about 480 pages – will be release.
